Botanical Gardens Upgrade

The Environment Division under a new directive to develop and manage the Victoria Park Botanical Gardens (VPBG) endeavours to create an inspirational space for environmental learning and recreation.  The VPBG has had a long history of being an open space for many users.  However, with the passage of time, insufficient oversight and limited financial resources, the Gardens has become overgrown with shrubbery and less conducive for recreation.  In an effort to regain this recreational space, the Environment Division now embarks on a journey to enhance and maintain the development of the gardens by:

  • Establishing a secure and aesthetically pleasing perimeter
  • Enhancing the visibility of local biodiversity flora  (plants)
  • Creating a communication hub for the display of environmental projects implemented by the Environment Division
  • Establish an institutional structure and sustained financing mechanism that will support the overall success of the VPBG
